COOPERATION TURNED INTO OWNERSHIP ARRANGEMENT
Three Eastern Finnish metal industry operators are merging: EFM Group Oy is a robust and self-sufficient system supplier for the engineering industry. The metal industry companies KKR Steel Oy, Joensuu CNC-Machining Oy and ViiMet Oy operating in the Joensuu economic region in North Karelia are merging to form EFM Group Oy. EFM is an abbreviation of East Finland Metal. The goal is to strengthen the subsidiaries' business development and growth plans. At the same time, the company's service offering expands to become a system supplier. In the future, EFM Group Oy will be a fully self-sufficient operator in its field, as a supplier of moving machines and equipment as well as parts and assemblies for the process industry.
A lot of effort is invested in development work. The subsidiaries are currently investing a total of 5.5 million euros in various projects supported by the ELY Center. EFM Group Oy owns 100 percent of its subsidiaries. The aim of the merger is to strengthen the business development of the subsidiaries and to secure the continuity of the ownership of EFM Group Oy's subsidiaries, also when the younger generation joins as owners.
The chairman of the board of EFM Group Oy is Jari Osmala, who ventured into international business from Pielisjärvi in North Karelia, and has versatile experience in international machinery and equipment business. He has held management positions at Valtra Oy in Finland, Germany and Brazil and as CEO of Normet Group. Osmala also has extensive experience in the board work of growth companies. Through his experience, he supports the business development of subsidiaries to a new level.
